Because there are no themes for this semester's final project, we were free to experiment with whatever concept we wanted. This semester's inspiration comes from the Edwardian-Victorian era. When I think of this subject, I think of romantic, sensual, and hyperfeminine things. Kali Uchis is the person who comes to mind as my muse while considering this topic since  she embodies those characteristics.  The majority of her songs are about  love or romance, which is the topic I've chosen for this collection.

After doing my research on the concept and further understand the fashion during that era as well as going through fashion trends from the recent runway show, these are some of the key elements I'm pulling from Edwardian victorian clothes

Corsets: The Victorian era was famous for their tightly laced corsets, which emphasised a woman's hourglass form. Corsets were used to contour the waist and support the bust.

Layers and Ornate Trimmings: Layering numerous clothing, such as chemises, petticoats, and dresses, was common in Victorian fashion. Lace, ribbons, ruffles, and ornate embellishments were frequently used to decorate the gowns.

High-Waisted Styles: In Edwardian fashion, the waistband crept up significantly, with a concentration on high-waisted and empire-style dresses. This resulted in a longer, more graceful line and a more relaxed, flowing silhouette.

Lace and Puffed Sleeves: Edwardian gowns frequently included puffed sleeves, it can be short or long and added a touch of femininity. To achieve a light and airy aesthetic, delicate materials, lace, and embroidery were often used.

These are my initial 12 designs and the chosen final looks:

The sole major project was that we were going to collaborate with engineering students to design a wearable health device for heart disease patients.

Some of the features include heart rate sensors that continuously monitor the heart rate and can identify any unusual patterns, health data analytics, which enables us to visualise collected data in the form of health metrics and alerts to help users or healthcare professionals, and ECG/EKG monitors which are devices that can record the electrical activity of the heart.

Wearable device data can be synchronised to smartphones, tablets, or computers, allowing you and healthcare providers to watch changes in your health,  discover irregularities, and make informed decisions about how to manage your disease, treatment, or lifestyle modifications.

However, due to technological and time constraints, Dr. Shaimaa has opted to forego that plan.

Then it was time to start pattern drafting and sewing toiles. We were able to visualise how the garment will look in the ultimate result as well as correct our mistakes or make some alterations for the final look.

After consulting with Dr Shaimaa, we are able to start with our final project.

will update the rest as soon as I finish the garments
