Today Ms. Maria taught us about design elements and principles. She asked us to find photos of patterns on runway shows from 3 designers each. After looking through different collections, these are the patterns that I ended up choosing :

The first pattern I chose are stripes, This dress specifically is from Alexander Mcqueen's Spring 2020 Ready-To-Wear Collection. Stripes have been used in clothing for hundreds of years, so seeing it on the runway is nothing new. In this case, they used different kind of stripes to add more dimension and variety to the dress.

The second pattern is tartan, seen in the pants worn in Jacquemes Spring/Summer 2020 Collection. Tartan is a pattern consisting of crisscrossed, horizontal and vertical lines, usually seen in multiple colours. In here, they went for a more simple approach by choosing a nude colour for the pants, which added a great contrast to the bright pink blazer.

The third pattern is floral, seen on the model from Fendi's Spring 2020 Collection. Floral prints are patterns inspired by flowers. They come in many different colours and shades as there are thousands of flowers out there. Floral patterns are usually associated with femininity, hence you will find them a lot used on dresses and skirts.
